About P&P Auto Repair - Our Story & History

P&P - Honest Auto Repair Since 1972

Paul Locicero

Meet the Owner

As the current owner of P&P Auto Repair, Paul carries forward a family tradition that began when his father Phil and Peter Zidek started the business in 1972. Paul’s journey in automotive repair began in 1994 when he started working alongside his father, learning from exceptional mentors, including his dad, Uncle Jim, Frank Pagano, and Peter Buck.

These experienced mechanics taught him not just how to repair all makes and models quickly and efficiently, but most importantly, how to do it honestly.

When Paul took over P&P Auto Repair in December 2017, he set a clear goal: “To run the shop as my father did – to do quality work with integrity.”

As an ASE-certified automobile repair technician, Paul continuously invests in education to keep pace with rapidly evolving automotive technology.

Paul’s passion isn’t just about the mechanical challenge, though. For Paul, every repair is about helping people get back to their lives safely and affordably. Paul’s philosophy is simple: treat every customer the way you’d want your own family treated.

Whether someone needs a simple oil change or faces a major engine repair, they get the same honest assessment, clear explanation, and commitment to quality workmanship that has defined P&P Auto Repair for over five decades.

Our History

1972 - The Beginning

Phil Locicero and Peter Zidek, both working for Frank Pagano at Frank’s Auto Repair on Main Street in Manchester, Connecticut, decided to venture out on their own. Together, they founded P&P Auto Repair Inc., combining their skills, experience, and shared commitment to honest automotive service. The “P&P” represented both their names and their partnership in serving the Manchester community.

1982 - Growing Roots

After 10 successful years in partnership, Phil and Peter decided to pursue separate paths. Phil moved P&P Auto Repair to its current location at 174 West Center Street in Manchester, establishing the shop that would become a cornerstone of the community.

1994 - The Next Generation Begins

Paul Locicero officially joined the family business, beginning his apprenticeship under some of the most skilled mechanics in Connecticut. Learning from his father Phil, Uncle Jim, Frank Pagano, and Peter Buck, Paul absorbed not just technical expertise but also the values that would define his approach to customer service: integrity, quality workmanship, and treating every customer like family.

2017 - A New Chapter Begins

Paul Locicero officially took over P&P Auto Repair, inheriting not just a business, but a responsibility to thousands of loyal customers who had trusted the P&P name for over four decades. His goal was clear and simple: “To run the shop as my father did – to do quality work with integrity.”

Today - The Story Continues

Now, with over five decades of combined experience, ASE certification, and state-of-the-art diagnostic capabilities, Paul and his team continue to serve the community with the same values that Phil and Peter established in 1972.

From oil changes to complex engine rebuilds, P&P Auto Repair remains committed to one simple promise: honest service, quality work, and treating every customer like family.
